Scholarship Funds 

These funds provide scholarships for worthy recipients selected by a designated committee to meet certain pre-established criteria (e.g., students from a specific school with financial need, a student going into the study of a specific field, or an athlete with a minimum grade point average).

Marge Moyers Memorial Scholarship Fund (2003) – Established by family and friends in memory of veteran educator Marge Moyers to provide scholarships to Shenandoah County students pursuing a career in Education.

Punky Riley Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund (2004) – Established in memory of beloved supporter of county youth athletics, Punky Riley, to provide scholarships to needy children to participate in summer camps provided by the Shenandoah County Department of Parks and Recreation.

4-H Dairy Club Scholarship Fund (2005) – Provides scholarships for selected students who have participated in the 4-H Dairy Club.

Shenandoah Scholars Fund (2006) -  Provides scholarships for graduating seniors from all three Shenandoah County public high schools and Triplett Tech, selected based on character, academic achievement, and school/community involvement.

Jessica Pumphrey Memorial Scholarship Fund (2006) – Established by family and friends in memory of Jessica Pumphrey to provide a scholarship to a Central High School student exhibiting outstanding achievement in academics and athletics.

John C. Copp Scholarship Fund (2006) – Established in memory of John C. Copp to provide a scholarship to a Stonewall Jackson High School student exhibiting exemplary character and academic achievement.

Stonewall Jackson High School Alumni Scholarship Fund (2006) – Established by Stonewall Jackson High School to provide a scholarship for a graduating senior.

Michael Morehead Memorial Scholarship Fund (2008) – Established by Stanley and Patricia Morehead, family and friends, in memory of Michael Morehead to provide a scholarship for a graduating senior from Strasburg High School who exemplifies outstanding character and notable academic and athletic achievement.

Brandon Kelly Dawson Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund (2008) – Established by family and friends in memory of Brandon Kelly Dawson to provide a scholarship for a graduating senior athlete from Stonewall Jackson High School who exhibits outstanding characteristics of leadership, sportsmanship while maintaining an acceptable grade point average.

Milt & Mattie Pence Memorial Scholarship Fund (2009) – Established by Donald M. Pence in memory of his parents to provide a scholarship for a graduating Central High School from the Edinburg area who has been a top scholar or top athlete and who has higher education as a goal but who needs financial assistance to attain this goal.

Harry Combs Memorial Scholarship Fund (2009) – Established by family and friends in memory of Harry Combs to provide a scholarship to a graduating Central High School student who plans to attend the University of Virginia.

Helene Albright Scholarship Fund (2010) – Established by Donald A. Albright in memory of his wife to provide a scholarship to a graduating senior of Latino heritage from one of the Shenandoah County public high schools.

Susan P. Massie Theatre Fund (2010) – Established by family and friends in memory of Susan P. Massie to provide for a Peter Muhlenberg Middle School student to attend Drama/Theatre Summer Camp.

Jason Long Aviation and Running Scholarship Fund (2011) – Established by family and friends in memory of Jason Long to provide scholarships to encourage students pursuing a serious interest in running and/or aviation.

Butch Orndorff Scouting Scholarship Fund (2011) - Established by the family of Oliver "Butch" Orndorff, Jr. to provide a scholarship for students who have participated in Boy Scouting in Shenandoah County.
Russell Adams Fort Valley Scholarship Fund (2012) - Established to provide and annual educational scholarship to a graduating senior (public, private, or home-schooled) from the Fort Valley area of Shenandoah County, Virginia. Applications available from Fort Valley Library or guidance offices at Shenandoah County Public Schools.

Donations of any size to a particular fund should be made payable to Shenandoah Community Foundation with the name of the specific fund in the memo line.
